A local chapter of MassBike is forming in the Pioneer Valley, and everyone
is cordially invited to attend its inaugural meeting. The region already
has more than 30 MassBike members. What the Pioneer Valley does *not*
have is a cohesive bicycle advocacy organization. Such an organization is
crucial to ensure that bicycle-friendly projects are proposed, funded, and
enacted; to raise public consciousness about alternatives to automobile
use; and to support and safeguard the livable communities that make the
Pioneer Valley such a special place.
Agenda items for this first meeting will include:
* Identification of major problems/issues facing cyclists in the Valley
* Identification of short- and long-term bike advocacy goals and vision
* Structure of MB/PV chapter
* Format, location, and frequency of meetings
