Getting to Where I'm At
Living in the Roslindale neighborhood of Boston for over 35 years, after
Growing up outside of Dundee, Illinois,
Graduating in 1969 from Dundee Community High School
Going east to MIT to study Comparative Planetology and Astronomy graduating with a Bachelor's degree (*and a wedding ring) in 1973, followed by a Master's a year later in 1974, learning celestial mechanics by plaing Spaceware along the way.
Helping discover the rings of Uranus while working at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York
Returning to Cambridge, Massachusetts to work MIT
Working for the past 38 years at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics,
Writing the original graphics terminal emulator for xterm
Creating a couple of widely-used astronomical data analysis software packages, RVSAO and WCSTools.
Marrying and divorcing twice, but with a resulting daughter who's also working on changing the world.
Eventually becoming myself.
