The Eighth Annual Neponset River Greenway Festival is a summer long
event. Events are planned for every Thursday from June through August.
The opening event will be held on a weekend. Canoe trips and guided walk
s
will be scheduled throughout the week.

its interactive performance of "The Singing Ringing Tree"
- August 1 - 1:30-2:30pm: Come interact
with the wildlife aboard Audubon Ark. Get up close to meet and learn
about some native animals
- August 8 - 1:30-2:30pm: Bonaparte the
Magician will amaze the crowds with his tricks, and keep you laughing
with his zany antics
Canoe Trips - Guided Tours of the Neponset Estuary and
Lower Mills Cascades
- Wednesday, July 17 at 6:00pm: John Kovich of the MDC and Beth
Phelps of BNAN will lead an upstream tour of the Neponset River. The
tour will meet at the Gallivan Blvd side of Pope John Paul II Park.

downstream tour of the Neponset with a special paddle to the Lower

a beginners tour of the Neponset River. The tour will meet at Pope

lead a tour of the Neponset Estuary. The tour will meet at Milton

lead a tour of Fowl Meadow. The tour will meet at Paul's Bridge in

The Downstream Greenway Tour will meet at Mattapan Square, bike to
Victory Road Park at the mouth of the Neponset and return to Mattapan
Square
Nature Walks/Special Programs
- August 8 at 5:30pm: Jeremy Dick will lead a Native Plants walk. Call

- August 13 at 6:00pm: Development Along the Neponset - Valerie
Burns, BNAN President, will lead a walking tour of proposed
residential and commercial development along the Neponset River at
Lower Mills.
